                                Born on 3rd September 1944 at Amritsar (Punjab), Graduated from Govt. College for Women, Amritsar in 1962 and obtained Post Graduate Degrees from Vikram University, Ujjain (where father, IRS Officer, was posted at that time) in 1965. Awarded Gold Medal in M.A. (Philosophy) for Standing First Class First in the entire Faculty of Arts in Vikram University, Ujjain (M.P.), with the following distinctions :

 

                                        -       Topped the University in M.A. (Previous) Exam 1963.

                                        -       Topped the University in M.A. (Final) Exam 1965.

                                        -       Topped the University in LL.B. (Previous) Exam 1963.

                                        -       7th in Merit list in LL.B. (Final) Examination 1964.

                                Appeared in M.A. (Previous) & LL.B. (Previous) Exam in the same year i.e. year 1963 and topped the University in both.

                                Obtained both the degrees in three years by doing double course.

                                Completed education at the age of twenty and a half.

 

                   Served as Lecturer in Philosophy in Shahzada Nand College for Women Amritsar from January 1967 till April 1968. Left the service to prepare and appear for IAS etc. Examination 1968 with centre at Calcutta (where father was posted at that time).  On being selected through that Competitive Examination held by U.P.S.C.,  was posted as Section Officer in Ministry of Finance, New Delhi w.e.f.  02.02.1970. Underwent training at Secretariat Training School, R.K. Puram, New Delhi, stood First in the examination held there and was awarded prize by Hon’ble Minister.

 

                   On being selected through first Competitive Examination held by  Delhi High Court in December 1971, securing 6th Position in Merit List, handed over charge of the Gazetted Post in Govt. of India on 06.05.1972 and joined as Judicial Officer in Delhi Judicial Service on the same date. Passed Departmental Examination held by Hon’ble Delhi High Court with Distinction in Criminal Law and inter-alia held posts of Rent Controller, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Addl. Senior Sub-Judge, Judge Small Causes Court, Guardian Judge, Insolvency Judge.

 

                   On being promoted to Delhi Higher Judicial Service w.e.f. 18.01.1986, served as Addl. Sessions Judge, Addl. District Judge / Matrimonial Judge, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Wakf Tribunal, Special Judge for NDPS cases, Special Judge for Corruption Cases, Judge-in-Charge Karkardooma Courts and lastly as Distt. & Sessions Judge, Delhi. Retired on 30.09.2004 on attaining age of super-annuation. Rated as ‘A’ Grade Judicial Officer.

 

                   After retirement, in pursuance of Orders of Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, conducted inquiry in one matter involving minor, inspected various Homes established for social welfare,, functioned as Court Receiver of one Institute and dealt with several matters as Arbitrator. Served as Addl. Distt. & Session Judge in Central Review Committee (J) on POTA from 01.02.2005 till 20.09.2005.  Thereafter took assignment as President, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, New Delhi w.e.f. 14.12.2005 and worked as such till completion of tenure on 02.09.2009. At present serving as Member (Judicial) in State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Delhi.
